THE FUTURE (Part 1 of 3)

Posted by: Matt

So, I’ve got three big announcements I plan to make this year, the first of which I made earlier today via twitter. I gotta tell ya, I think I flubbed it. No fanfare, no pomp, no circumstance… just a tweet and a Facebook post or two. Pretty weak, right?

Honestly, pulling back the curtain on a new book cover should at least merit a blog post (even if its just a short one like this). So, here it is again, the amazing book cover for THE END OF INFINITY, Book 3 in the Jack Blank Adventure trilogy: (click thumbnail below to enlarge)

I love this cover. It was painted by artist extraordinaire, Owen Richardson, who I am lucky to have doing the art for my books. This particular book will hit the shelves on August 7th, 2012. I hope you check it out.

While you’re at it, keep checking back for at least two more big announcements on what’s next for me in 2012.

    Jonas Smart – Clive Owen
    Stendeval – ?

        Virtual-Scarlet Johannsen
        Jack Blank-Me

Sorry if that’s sounds weird, but ever since I read the books I have a desire for them to be movies and me as Jack Blank

          Jazen: Keanu Reeves

The entire time I was reading the books i kept seeing Keanu as Neo for him. Cannot think of any other actors for other charactors, possibly Ian Mckellen looking similar to his role as Gandalf for Stendeval. Though the art seems to portray him differently then I imagined him.

Matt I must ask. Who would you want directing a blank movie. I would want Ben Aflek

Jazen Knight: Liam Hemsworth or Chris Pine
    Jack Blank: Jared S. Gilmore
    Stendeval: Morgan Freeman
    Blue: Nonso Anozie
    Skerren: Asa Butterfield
    Jonas Smart: Robert Downey Jr.
    Virtua: Shailine Woodley
    Prime: Don Cheadle
    Mr. Calhoun: Harrison Ford
    Rex Staples: Moises Arias

Some of these actors you may find odd playing the characters I attached them to but if you run through scenes in your head featuring this cast, I think it fits quite well. For example, Asa Butterfield’s performance in “Ender’s Game” would compliment him playing Skerren, seeing as both characters share certain personality characteristics.

would you ever make a 4th book i loved the 3 books that you made. Before these books i hated to read but you brought me into a whole new world and made me relize that reading is fun. From reading these books i also got the courage to drawing on comic books and giving them to people (they are not that good:) What i am trying to say is that i hope that you make another book the 4th book because it can help other people like me that did not like reading. i know you may not get this but if you do i hope that you will make a 4th book. Ps. if you need help i have a few ideas

    Thanks so much

Chris – Thanks for your comment. So great to hear how these books turned you around on reading. Keep it up! Same goes for your drawing. That is how I started too. I’m sure your pics are great.

No plans for a 4th book right now, but you never know what the future might hold… in the meantime I am working on SEABORNE, my new series starting in May 2015. More on that soon.

    Thanks for reading!

Matt, I loved the Jack Blank Adventures. They were funny, entertaining, and action packed. It was a great series, and it will forever be my favorite. I hope you will think about writing a 4th book sometime soon, because if it’s anything like the first 3, it will make readers out of so many kids. Jack’s story has changed my life in so many ways, and I would love to read more about his adventures. The books were very meaningful and had several great themes in them. The Imagine Nation has encouraged me to never stop believing. The books had great description that really brought it to life. I really hope you think about continuing the series. Thank you for writing such an amazing series, and I hope you decide to continue it. Jack’s story had a huge impact on me and everyone else who followed Jack on his adventures. Thank you for spending your time and using your amazing writing skills to create such wonderful books. Please think about creating a 4th book, because I know I would buy it.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I love hearing how these books touched people, and how they want more Jack Blank. These stories meant a lot to me too, and not just b/c they were my first published books. So glad to know others feel the same way. Thanks for writing!
